Slow Baked
[A delicious episode, slow baked and aged with an old-world flair. Or something like that, it just took me a long time to get it done. Oh well, I’ve got another in the can (aging now, doh) and speak there to what happened, so here we go…]
Proverbs 30:8 is my bible verse of the day.
Wherein Rob talks about progress on the workflow [which isn’t what set me back on production] of production, mentions podcaster Garrick Van Buren and his generous sharing of his HijackingWP Script and alternatives; more on segmentation and soundbeds and the desire to fast-forward per-segment; breaks a rule about not talking about current events, to talk about a trend evidenced by a recent event [which sure enough has now aged more than a week before anyone hears it], that being bait-and-switch ballot measures; driver’s education and a desire for excellence, like learning to leave ample huge extra distance when following on a 2-lane highway where you’re not going to pass; shout out to Neal and an extra segment just to be sure he doesn’t say this is an anemic sad little cookie, a second-day ramble and a story about a rumor of a scam happening in the office where I work ala The Game or that episode of Everybody Loves Raymond; Sunrey from Music for Modern Listening by Stargarden [which held production until I could retrieve the .wav version and not double-compress the MP3, which is NO GOOD and totally not required with Magnatune’s excellent offer for podcasters].
[Huh another recording with at least a bit of “drop-out” issues on the source recording. I don’t know what’s going on, my recorder didn’t used to do that but it’s twice in a row I’m hearing this issue. Grr. Also I had grand plans to soundbed a portion of this show but… not this time! Instead I had grand plans to put out segment files and see how satisfactory the idea might be… and needing to do that with no automation _definitely_ slowed me down producing the show. Plus, well I’ll just claim to be busy though that’s not the whole truth of why I’m behind on the podcast… look at me ramble here! Another idea I’ve not explored, reading back the paragraph of show notes that I’m laboriously creating with every ep… sigh, lots of goals and things to do with this podcast fun. I hope you enjoy.]
