A Fast Muffin

Bible verse of the day is Proverbs 24:13-14.

Wherein Rob explains the burden of post-production and how he almost didn’t get the prior ep done a whole week later, and why this episode is so much shorter than the last; speaks a little bit about The Levelator; welcomes RevGum and talks about staying home with the ickies, and welcomes The Breeder and responds to the idea that I have too much time (hard to argue after producing the previous ep); about “so anyway” and podcasting; and a new outro idea (that I’m stealing from Leisa), leaving you with a song: Where Grandpa Lives by my cousin Neal, who has a number of songs here.

[Hmm… tech, rewards, relationships… yep! And this Levelator thing is cool, I think… it does amplify the noises but seems to add some punch to the message, agree? I’m cracking myself up yet again, I hope you enjoy this muffin! Still doesn’t sound quite right but I’ll keep trying stuff. I did make fast work of this ep, comparatively speaking anyway]

Biggie

[A giant sheet cake of a show — really big and kinda flat but hopefully tasty. I recorded this over two days (both drive days last week) and then couldn’t get it mixed and uploaded until… today, my next drive day! ouch! I got it all mixed and stuff and here I am posting it over lunch hour. I’m not sure what I’ll do different next time but this might be the last show of its kind for awhile]

Bible verse of the day is Proverbs 13:12.

Wherein Rob responds to Kyle’s recent feedback, and adds Do what You Love, The Money Will Follow to the list of books he is not reading, seems to confuse distillation with fermentation (heh); speaks to why you don’t see an About Me page on my site right now; speaks specifically about why I don’t always speak specifically about the people I mention in my podcast; why I link to Kyle but not Beavis; Dot.Com Party Story episode 2 – introducing the Canadian Customs and the Hotel Radisson, and sharing an office with Beavis; the segment divider thingies [for which I had no time this time to do more than a very minimal thing]; welcomes a new listener and talks about the podcasting (podcatching) experience; mentions the Juice podcast receiver; goes into the nerdy technicals of how I’m recording the show and how to break segments, and comes up with a brand new technique to make my ancient MZ-R70 work even better with Audio Hijack Pro; the importance of verve and how it can leak out when recording; Dad’s ready to try an MP3 player; smoking update [nope, didn’t quit over the weekend].

Back to Back Episodes

[I did record two episodes this week, and uploaded the first one quickly… and but then couldn’t get this one out quite as fast, oh well]

Wherein Rob quickly chooses as the Bible verse of the day Proverbs 18:19; speaks to what he has been up to and back-to-back episodes; the state of podcasting and tools and the need for (me to have) a better workflow; books I’m not reading like David Allen’s Ready for Anything (and the associated Getting Things Done), and the need to do a cross-loan with Dr. Bart, also Steven K. Scott’s The Richest Man Who Ever Lived [which I did get started on this morning, yay]; thinking about quitting smoking, and why I haven’t put a date on the calendar yet; why Beavis always calls me Beavis, and a recollection on Canadian dot com fun; splicer divider inserter skimming-marking action, and how do you like it?

Shout out to Jimmy Jett and the original Podcast About Nothing.

Three small things

[Baking the cake in a whole new way! Ok not really all that new, and this isn’t really what I intend on doing long term… but listen to the ep and you’ll see I’ve made a bit of progress. Except for extra time mixing ingredients. I hope it’s tasty!]
Wanting to create something to work with, Rob emits Phillipians 4:6 (with barely no comment about how great it is); discusses where he’s at and what he’s doing; speaks to the format of this ep and the progress from the previous ep; makes passing comments to a new blog and discussion of feedback (you are ready for Google aren’t you Kyle?); and gets out with only about 5 minutes of stuff to talk about! Rob’s Roadtrip Ramblings this one is not!

Longest ep yet!

I guess I had a lot to say, having not published in awhile. This cake has been baked for days but I just haven’t been able to get it out to you… here it is, I hope you enjoy!

Having not recorded an episode in a long time (as noted by Neal) and having received some fabulous feedback, Rob fires up and goes for nearly 30 minutes on a multitude of topics: Hebrews 4:12 and the heart; Preacher Tony; K Marie will be leaving soon (darn); Artdog’s mother is doing much better, and associated rambles; Looking back on the first phase of the experiment, allusion to the future; gadgets on the road, caution required, near mishap and lesson learned; the time I got a ticket for violating common sense; digging even a little deeper, and results so far about my new Cingular 8125 HTC Wizard; how I decided it was time for a new device, see also this which I didn’t really discuss; why I recorded the show so early (Mr. Shaun is leaving).

Featuring clips from Bulls on Parade. Music is “Bingo in the Country” by Happy Elf published by WM Recordings.
