The big idea of this one is to ask God to take the sting away from those haunting memories… basically He seems willing to forgive you for past sins and allow you to forgive yourself.

Shout out to my buddy “Earl”. [So much for Sunday or Monday, I mixed this in the car on Tuesday… and I ended up mixing it in the car, with another driver at the wheel. And I won’t even tell you about how hard it was to get the file uploaded and posted. Sigh.]

First Anniversary

My thanks to the first year listeners who sent me feedback. Public commenters include (in chronological order): Neal, Leisa, Kyle, Vinny, Jim, PO8, Alina, K Marie, Josh, and Owen. Also I need to work through the email archives as there is another group of folks who didn’t leave public comments… and perhaps even one or two that heard an ep and provided feedback only in person. It’s all good.

One Year Anniversary-1

Wherein Rob starts early and begins recording while waiting for summer day camp to open so he can drop off “Fireboy” [and too bad I didn’t bring the other microphone, you can barely hear the lad] and then commences to rambles on his way to the freeway; some meta-talk about podcasting and such; shares experience (and an audio clip) from the first album purchase he’s made in a long time, and the first from iTMS; PodioBooks hooking me up with Eastern Standard Tribe; an interesting point Mr. Doctrow shared with me on DRM, and misc thoughts on the end of this bad idea, and bad grooves in my brain (heh); feedback (yay!) [and darn it, I knew I was making a mistake last time to speed it up], thanks RevGum, thanks KMarie [oops and some meta talk about production]; some clips from Psych, including a new catch phrase you can work into conversation; raining in August, who would have thought?; and I’m out [end of this ep, which is about an experiment and not an experience, doh] and a final thought or two about RSS [get Juice!]; [and I got to training class 5 minutes early, good plan came together].

Fixin’ to be Early

Telecommuting update (and hear me not blab about it after all; not very compelling content and so that part went to the bit bucket); comments bonanza, some “firsts”, and going full circle on the feedback; some more talk about blessings, and about “getting it”; saving corporate assets and being appreciated; hacking, and Sudoku and Go and some fun from years ago; taking a pass on solar and renewable energy; why recycling batteries is important (I wish I would have taken the time to prepare and click here, it’s not really all that funny, or hard to understand); elections and election coverage and complaining about it; now she’s done it to my show too! ha ha (and I did find the Daily Show clip, plus a bonus featuring Jay Leno on same subject); and finally, about 12 minutes of tales of Sudoku (shout out to BrainBashers.com Sudoku and their excellent Sudoku solving techniques and the fun I’ve been having [but very nearly left out of the show because I wonder if it’s interesting to anybody]; and that’s a wrap!

Fixin’ to be Late

Wherein Rob starts out with a shout out to his little sister, and talks about a story of reverse culture shock which we found amusing (and hit home for her, the international traveller) [and today the domain won’t resolve so no link for you, darn, kills me]; shares some thoughts about God and blessings and stuff; shares some thoughts on sharing feedback; piled up feedback from KMarie and replying to one item at least, smoking update; talks about some interesting programming efforts of late, processing “large” amounts of data [100’s of megabytes, wow, ha ha]; exclaims about Sudoku [check out Life Sudoku, a good online version]; a few words about Energy: nickel metal hydride batteries, solar energy, and a crazy-excellent scheme for fixing our power problems; a quick meta-comment, sincere thanks to those who listen [yeah doing this really makes the trip better but of course it doesn’t work without the listeners]; includes some crazy talk about world-wide benevolent dictatorship and how to make it work, kinda, and also my feelings about the biggest topic on the news today, and Anyone but a Bush or a Clinton [registration required, doh!]; and on that cheery note he’s done!
